Purrify — Storage Cleaner for iPhone
Frequently asked questions
- How does Purrify free space?
- Purrify finds large files, duplicate photos, and Live Photos in your library. You review what it found, then choose what to delete, compress, or convert. Nothing happens until you confirm. Deleted items go to Recently Deleted in Photos, where they stay for 30 days and can be restored.
- Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
- No. All scanning and analysis happens on your iPhone. No photos, videos, or metadata ever leave your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.
- What does "Free up to X GB" mean?
- That's the estimated space you could recover by acting on everything Purrify found. The actual space is only freed once you empty Recently Deleted in the Photos app (Albums → Recently Deleted → Delete All).
- Why do I need to empty Recently Deleted?
- When you delete photos, iOS moves them to Recently Deleted rather than erasing them immediately. This gives you a 30-day recovery window. The storage is only reclaimed when you empty that album. Purrify cannot do this step for you — iOS does not allow apps to empty Recently Deleted.
- What is cleanup quota?
- Scanning and reviewing your library is always free. When you commit a cleanup (delete, compress, or convert), it uses quota equal to the space it frees. You start with 2 GB of free quota. After that, you can buy more: 5 GB for $1.99, 20 GB for $4.99, or 50 GB for $9.99. There is no subscription — you pay once per pack and use it when you're ready.
- Does quota expire?
- No. Quota does not expire. Use it whenever you want.
- What happens if I delete and reinstall the app?
- Your quota (both free and purchased) is stored on your phone. Deleting the app erases it. The free 2 GB is not granted again on reinstall. Purchased packs do not transfer to a new device. This is stated on the Paywall and in Settings before you buy.
- Can I restore my purchases on a new phone?
- Cleanup packs are consumables. They are spent as you use them and cannot be restored on a new device. This is how consumable in-app purchases work on iOS — the same as buying coins or tokens in a game.
- What does "Shrink" do to my videos?
- Shrink re-encodes a video at a lower bitrate to make the file smaller. This creates a new, smaller copy in your library. The original stays until you choose to delete it. The new copy keeps the creation date, location, and album membership. Face tagging is rebuilt by the system. Any existing edits on the original do not carry over.
- What does "Convert to Still" do?
- It extracts the still photo from a Live Photo and saves it as a new photo. The original Live Photo stays until you choose to delete it. The still keeps the date, location, and album membership.
- Why does the duplicate scanner take longer than the size scan?
- The size scan reads metadata from the Photos database — fast and lightweight. The duplicate scanner loads each photo, generates a visual fingerprint using the Vision framework, and compares them. This is real image analysis, not a file-name check, so it takes longer but catches photos that look alike even if their file sizes differ.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Purrify does not have accounts, sign-in, or sign-up. Your Apple ID handles purchases through the App Store.
